Is it easy to transfer racking to a new van?

New van, new van racking

Roughly 80% of our installs are into new vans. Not always “brand new, hot off the production line” vans, but very much “new to the customer” vans.

This tells us one of two things. Either our customers get excited about their new vans, and can’t wait to jazz them up with the latest products from System Edström and the like.

Or they don’t know just how quick and easy it is to transfer racking from one van to another.

We understand the first one - what’s better than a brand new van, fully kitted out with lightweight, secure and easily organised racking?

We don’t get the second one. Because we know that it’s definitely very quick and very easy to transfer racking from one van to another.

We’ve done it loads of times.

New van delays

Right now, early July 2023, the UK is experiencing delays to new van deliveries. And this isn’t a one off.

Covid caused chaos in the new van market, as production of microchips ground to a halt. Back in 2021, the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP), reported delays of about six months, with AFP Chair, Paul Hollick, calling it “a nightmare.”

The latest delays have come about from Clean Air Zones being introduced to major UK cities. In response, some of the biggest van manufacturers have pulled the plug on production of diesel vans to ramp up output of their plug-in hybrid and electrical vehicles.

All of which means it’s getting harder to lay your hands on a shiny new van - both brand new and new to you. And that means it’s going to take even longer to get your new van racking.

Or is it?

Don’t wait to start getting organised

As we said earlier, it’s quick and easy to transfer racking from one van to another. It only takes a few hours and we only charge £250, so long as the spec hasn’t changed, too much.

You don’t have to keep the exact same set up. We know that your business can change. As it does, what you need from your van racking changes with it.

We’ve chosen racking systems for their safety, value, lightweight construction and flexibility. And it’s that flexibility that means we can adapt your van racking to grow with your business.

All of which means you don’t have to wait to get your hands on some shiny new van racking. Which means you don’t have to wait to start getting organised.

Plus, if you buy racking for your van now, then buy a new van in the next 18 months, we’ll transfer the racking over for free*.

As you know, it doesn’t take long.

If you’d like to talk about racking for your van, new or old…

*Free transfers only apply to like-for-like van racking into a comparable van. It does not include extras, such as electrical or heating systems.
